Halloween party: the aftermath
We had an epic Halloween party this weekend with Monster Mash on repeat, a fire pit, and karaoke. I really enjoy hosting, probably because I get to decorate, and I get to make my friends happy. I’ve had some pretty great parties, but I stress myself out beyond belief to make everything perfect. (The last party we hosted was a whole Survivor day with challenges and filming to make an episode, but it ended up lasting 6+ hours. I felt so bad I kidnapped my friends for so long that I haven’t been able to even look at the footage.)
This time, however, I recruited my friends to help decorate and bear some of the weight of party prep. Unbelievably, it became immeasurably more enjoyable to both set up and attend the party. We crafted incredible decor and curated a great vibe that I actually got to enjoy because I wasn’t so stressed. Huge win.
Here are some future party/event ideas that I’d like to host with the help of my friends:
- Friendsgiving
- A second murder mystery party, maybe set at a ren faire?
- Bonfire
- Clothes mending craft night
- Something real cozy for a snow day/the depths of winter
Anyway, here are all the things we crafted that I’m dreading to take down.
